Hummingbird drawings

By May 26, 2025Drawing2 min read

Preview – A quaint little pair of blue-tailed emerald hummingbird drawings are now available for purchase. Both studies are one-of-a-kind original graphite pencil drawings on 115 gsm textured drawing paper, completed in 2020 following patient observation during lockdown on Curaçao, and tucked away until recently. A special thank you to my amusing little garden friends who happened to be just as curious as I was.

Drawings – Each hummingbird drawing measures around 15 to 16 cm, and is centrally positioned on an off-white background of 28 x 21 cm. Both artworks are signed, dated, and issued with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

Birds – The blue-tailed emerald (Chlorostilbon mellisugus caribaeus), or “Blenchi” in Papiamentu, is a small hummingbird which, in reality, measures around 7.5 cm in length and weighs as little 2.6 g. This specific subspecies of blue-tailed emerald, C.m. caribaeus, is mainly found on the ABC islands, Trinidad and in Northern Venezuela.

Price –  € 250 per drawing including VAT, less 10% when purchased together. Prices exclude shipping and handling fees. Several payment methods available.
